Description: Earth Day is an annual event on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. Students of Bethany Convent School, Greater Noida, decided to take a pledge to bring a change in their lifestyle that would impact not only those within the school but also the community outside of the school. Activities were initiated on 22nd April and children pledged to continue their efforts till they could create an impact around them. Bethany Convent School, Greater Noida celebrated Earth Day on 22nd April with full enthusiasm. The school had organised a number of activities to create awareness to conserve our mother Earth and its resources on the occasion of Earth Day. The motive was to inculcate students with values of conservation, respecting nature, being mindful of disposing the waste, and encouraging them to reduce, reuse and recycle. The students of Class VIII conducted a special assembly and displayed their vivid talents through various cultural programmes which included Significance of the day, Nukkad Natak along with beautiful dance performances. The students through their Nukkad Natak and dance performances urged all to conserve our resources and use them wisely. The choir group also presented a mellifluous song on Earth Day. Later after the cultural events Sister Roseline Clara, honourable Principal of the school addressed the students and gave a beautiful and meaningful message on Earth Day. All the classes contributed two saplings on the occasion of Earth Day. The Earth day ended with a plantation drive, wherein students of Class VIII alongwith our honourable Principal Sr.Roseline Clara planted saplings in the school premises.
