Description:
On 1st October, Bethany Convent Senior Secondary School celebrated Gandhi Jayanti with a special assembly to honour the life and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi. The event began with a prayer, followed by a prayer song that set a reflective tone. Students paid homage to Gandhiji with a heartfelt song by the choir, accompanied by floral tributes. A brief introduction and a talk on the significance of the day highlighted Gandhiji’s impact on peace, non-violence, and justice. The assembly also featured a dance performance by Class 8 girls and a small enactment portraying key moments of Gandhiji’s life.
The assembly concluded with a prize distribution to recognize student achievements, followed by a speech by Sister Dr. Shilpa Mary who emphasized the relevance of Gandhian values in today’s world. A vote of thanks was given to appreciate everyone’s participation. After the assembly, a *cleanliness drive* was organized by teachers and students, encouraging everyone to maintain a clean environment in line with Gandhiji's vision. Additionally, various activities were conducted across the school:
- *Speaking Competition* for Classes 1 and 2 on **Gandhi’s life and his slogans
- *Painting Competition* for Classes 3 and 4 focusing on Gandhiji's life,
- *Writing Activity* for Classes 5 and 6 about Gandhiji's principles,
- *PPT Presentation* for Classes 7 and 8 on the life cycle of Gandhiji.
